Pale brindled beauty

Norman Lowe "In my trap morning of 16th November 2017, usually a harbinger of spring with a peak emergence in February and smaller numbers in January. Occasionally odd ones have been recorded in Breconshire in December but this year it seems to be emerging earlier and one was reported from Rhayader as early as November 9th. The moth is unusual in that only the males have functional wings, the females being flightless, and these can sometimes be found on the trunks of trees.
